Is Quarantine a Crisis?

Quarantine….Social distancing….Cardi B’s voice yelling in our heads with her infamous “ CORONA VIRUS….SHIT’S GETTING REAL

I know it’s tough, stressful and isn’t that much helping especially for people who’ve just started the New Year with a new me perspective.

I know some of you guys had an eager, fresh spirit awaiting the days to eat healthily, go to the gym and sleep well.

However there are some tips that I can assure you that it will get you through this period that will end soon inshallah!

  1. Remember that we’re all in this together, your family, friends, coaches, EVERYBODY. And it’s a tough journey for all of us, we wake up every day to literally stay at home for our own safety and health and for others’ health and safety as well. Therefore, it’s absolutely important to keep track of what you’re eating even in a small notebook, just for guidance. As sometimes, false signals are sent to your brain informing in that you’re hungry. While originally, you might be either thirsty or bored. That’s why you need to pay good attention at what, why and when you’re eating.
  2. We are all suckers for snacking, we really love to snack. Some people don’t even have proper meals and just depend on their snacks, which isn’t technically correct however some people tend to dislike being seated to have a proper meal so it’s more or less better for them. That’s why, whichever type you are. You’ve gotta snack healthily. I can see you smirking at the screen right now, but believe it or not there are millions of snack ideas and I’m here just to help you with them!
  3. Mobilize a bit, there are numerous channels and Instagram accounts for fitness coaches and gyms all around the globe that post simple but effective home workouts for you to give it a try! Most of them are even with no equipment.
  4. Choose the healthier option for all your meals, instead of butter add oil, instead of eating bread try to eliminate your carbs intake.

That’s why I’ll be posting healthier options of snacks and meals for everyone to try and add it to their daily routines!

  1. CARROTS/CUCUMBERS WITH HUMMUS DIP

Fresh and cool cucumbers and carrots along with a hummus dip is a real filling snack. Fibers in hummus and the 2 veggies definitely give you a feeling of fullness. What is more, hummus is a great source of plant protein and it’s such a great dip for every intolerance whoever has nut, gluten, or lactose intolerance will absolutely have no problem with hummus!

2. Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Don’t fry them, but roast them. They’re rich in fibers, antioxidants, has a low glycemic index and rich in vitamin A. You can add a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy this warm snack!

3. Apples and Peanut butter dip

Apples and peanut butter, the perfect combination of a nutty and fruity snack. If you don’t fancy peanut butter you can easily replace it with almond or cashew butter.
